The Solution to Displaying All Your Reviews from the Internet on Your Site

Clive Clifford • Nov 10, 2017

And the Data that Shows Why it’s Important

Getting customers to leave you reviews is one of the most important marketing strategies you can use. You know it. We know it. Let’s move forward.

Many businesses have reviews all over the Internet, from Yelp to Facebook and everything in between. But what’s the point of having an abundance of solid reviews if potential customers aren’t seeing them at the right time—when they’re on your site looking at your services? We fully believe that all business owners should display their reviews on their website in a way that proves your reviews are legitimate.

Our solution: an online review presenter.

What is the Review Presenter?

Our digital marketing experts understand the importance of not only gathering reviews, but also displaying them in all the right places. That’s why we developed the Locallogy Review Presenter, which is an add-on feature that takes the reviews written by your clients from various websites and compiles them onto your website to be displayed. This is a feature that can easily be added to any website and is something our clients have found extremely beneficial for getting customers to see a variety of reviews.

Our Review Presenter works in tandem with our Review Builder, which helps get your customers to leave you a review in the first place. The Presenter then takes those reviews your customers leave and shows them on your website for visitors to see when they’re considering your services.

Why Do I need to Display My Reviews on My Website?

According to a 2017 BrightLocal survey, 97% of consumers use a search engine at least once a year to find local businesses, rather than going directly to a particular business’s website. This means more businesses are being found through local searches, giving more businesses a chance of being found online. In order to stand out among your competition, positive reviews are a must. And when you get customers to click on your website and look at your services, you want them to see a plethora of ratings displayed on your site.

With a review presenter on your website, posts from various review sites go directly onto your website, while still showing in their original location. For example, if a customer leaves you a review on Facebook, that review will show up on both Facebook and your website. This allows people to see your reviews no matter where they’re looking, and since it’s a verified review left on a third party website (Facebook), they’re more likely to trust it.

A Numbers Game

Speaking of displaying reviews on multiple sites, BrightLocal found in 2016that 59% of consumers look at 2-3 different review sites before making a decision about a business. That means it’s helpful to spread out your reviews to a variety of places, so no matter where people go, they are bound to find relevant reviews of your product or service. This is where the review builder comes back into play, because it gives customers a wide variety of suggested websites to leave reviews on.

When it comes to having reviews, the more, the merrier. That same 2017 BrightLocal surveyfound that the average consumer reads seven reviews before feeling like they can trust the business. This might not seem like a lot, but 38% of people said reviews must be relevant (28% said within the past month) for them to matter. So you need to constantly be getting an influx of current reviews—which our Review Builder helps with—to get consumers to trust you.

What are the Benefits of a Review Presenter?

This isn’t your average testimonials section. A review presenter shows who posted the review, what website it was posted on and the corresponding star rating the user gave your business.

Notice how the Google logo next to each name shows that the review was pulled from Google, and is therefore a reliable review left by an actual client. The link to view the original review is another feature that lets consumers know these ratings are legitimate, making your business seem more trustworthy. Here are some of the other benefits you’ll see from displaying your reviews on your site:

  • Works with the Review Builder to get more customers to leave you reviews.
  • Gathers reviews from different websites, allowing a wide variety of sources to appear.
  • Only 4- and 5-star reviews are shown, weeding out the ones you don’t want people to see on your website.
  • Icons from the original website and links to the post give social proof that the source is verified by that platform.
  • Images of stars appear next to each review, adding a visual element that reinforces your positive ratings.
You don’t have to use the Locallogy Review Presenter to do all this, but it does require a lot of complicated coding to do it yourself. We’ve created this as an easy tool for you to use, getting reviews up and onto your site quickly.

Seeing Stars

You’ve probably noticed that some online reviews include star ratings, which serves as a great visual for people to compare the quality of businesses. In fact, 54% of consumers said the average star rating is what they pay the most attention to when judging a local business, according to BrightLocal. That being said, 39% of people said the business has to have a minimum star rating of three out of five stars for the company to be considered usable. Only 12% of consumers said they would consider a business with less than that.

With a review presenter like Locallogy’s, your star-ratings automatically show up on your website with each verified review. So when customers give you a 5-star rating on Google, both the review and the star rating are pulled on to your website. You don’t lose that visual when reviews go on your own website, so no matter where people read about your business, that star rating will be there.

The great feature the Review Presenter has, however, is its ability to only pull 4- and 5-star reviews from the web to post on your site. If you get a bad review here and there, your website won’t display those. It’s important to note that negative reviews can’t simply be deleted or hidden on third-party websites like Google, Facebook or Yelp. However, the Review Presenter does allow you to control what is being shown on your own website.

Put Your Reviews to Work

While having an abundance of reviews on various websites is an important part of your marketing strategy, a review presenter allows you to take it a step further by compiling those reviews—the positive ones, at least—into one place and showing them on your websites. As we mentioned, Locallogy offers our own Review Presenter tool as part of our Review Builder service, because we didn’t see any other digital marketing services doing this.

When you work hard to earn those positive reviews, they should be utilized in every way possible. Get started by learning more about our Review Builder and Review Presenter service.
